9 DAYS NATURE WALK FLORA & FAUNA SAFARI
Day 1: Amboseli
Arrival in Nairobi, are picked up from the airport and transfered to city
centre for a cup of tea. Take a Nairobi city excursion, probably some
walking at Paradise lost caves. After, proceed to Amboseli National park,
near Mt kilimanjaro via Namanga border town. Dinner and Overnight at
Amboseli campsite.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Early breakfast and leave for a full day game drive in this park, which
lies in a dried up lakebed. There are swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, which give
permanent water to the wildlife. The animals seen here include lion,
elephant, cheetah, buffalo, plains game and the rare Taita weaver and the
gerenuk. The animals are mainly found around the Ol Kenya swamp. If the
weather is clear and there is low cloud cover, you may see the peak of Mt.
Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop to the park. The observation
hill offers a view of the entire park and beyond with game drives enroute.

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West
Breakfast and leave Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park through Chyulu
Gate, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing with visit to Mzima springs, underground natural springs that are a source for domestic water supply for Mombasa city. Continue your game drive in search of leopards, giraffes, elephants and birds. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Tented Camp.
Day 4: Tsavo West – Nairobi
Breakfast and depart for Nairobi, lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at Flora guest house or Parkside budget hotel.
Day 5: Nairobi – Mt. Kenya
Breakfast and head north to Mount Kenya Region to arrive in time for
lunch. After lunch, make an optional visit to the Mau Mau caves; these
caves were used as hide outs as well as shelter by the pre- independent freedom fighters that fought the British Colonial Government the vast thick forests of Mt. Kenya and Aberdares Ranges. They are situated in the deep thick forests region with large trees and great rocks. This made them ideal for protection against the heavy bombardments.
(Optional excursion to visit Kikuyu Cultural Villages at an extra cost).
Dinner and Overnight at Mountain Rock lodge/ camp.
Day 6: Menengai crater
Breakfast, are picked up and driven to Nakuru in time for lunch from Waterbuck hotel. After lunch, leave for Menengai crater, a major volcanic
crater in the East African Rift. Return back to Nakuru, dinner and overnight at Waterbuck/ Midlands/ Stem hotel.
Day 7: Lake Nakuru
Breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru park on game drives. The park has
prolific bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stock among others. Waterbuck and Cape buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s giraffe and the white rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like lion. Late lunch, Dinner and Overnight at a Waterbuck hotel/ Stem.
Day 8: Mt Longonot
After breakfast depart for Mt Longonot walk with packed lunches. Exlore
the spectacular crater of the mountain. Dinner and Overnight at Kenvash
budget hotel.
Day 9: Lake Naivasha
Depart for Naivasha along the Great Rift Valley and take a walk at Hell’s
Gate. Hells’ Gate is a mellow little park with incredible geology near Lake Naivasha. A great thing about the park is that you can hike around on
foot. There are few to no major predators here, which are actually good,
because it’s one of the few parks where you have the feeling of being very
close to the wildlife, unprotected by a vehicle. It gives you a genuine
experience and you can have several days of fun in this park.
Attractions include Fischer’s Tower, Central Tower, Obsidian Caves, OlKaria Geothermal Station, and the Hell’s Gate Gorge. It’s a long walk from Elsa Gate to Central Tower at the end of the park and back, if you enjoy technical mountain climbing, you can do it here. Also you can explore the park by mountain bike. Afternoon, proceed to Nairobi in time for your departure home.
