LEUC 002: 9 DAYS SAFARI ITINERARY HIKING RWENZORI, MOUNTAINS OF THE MOONS CLIMB
Day 1: ARRIVAL ENTEBBE - KAMPALA
Arrivals at the Airport, where you will be met by your driver, then transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight, Olympia Budget Hotel - Budget, Hotel Africana -
Luxury Day 2: KAMPALA / KASESE
Early Breakfast then we leave Kampala for Kasese across the equator; have enroute lunch then through the Rift valley to your hotel for dinner and overnight, at Rubuni Community Camp at the base of Rwenzori, Hotel Margherita Kasese -
Luxury Day 3: EQUATOR GLACIERS TOUR BEGINS
After early breakfast, assisted by guides and porters we transfer to Nyakalengija on to Ibanda to start your 5-6 hour climb into the mountains. Your climb takes you through thick Equatorial vegetation before arriving at the Nyabitaba hut (2650 meters) in the late evening for Dinner and Overnights rest.
Day 4: COUNTINUE THE CLIMBING
Breakfast early and then start a morning hike through the Kurt Sharfer Bridge to marvel at the sparkling Mobuku river confluence. A climb through the open patches, Lobelia, and Heath moss forest before proceeding up to the John Matte hut for overnight.
Day 5: COUNTINUE THE CLIMB
Depart early through the giant Lobelias and heath trees. You ascend to the Bigo Bog and scenic landscape of Lobelias and giant Groundsels. Dinner and overnight stop at Bujuku hut (3997 meters).
Day 6: COUNTINUE THE CLIMB
Head off from the valley in with scenic alpine vegetation consisting of Giant Groundsels and Lobelia and head on to ascent Mount Victoria and Mount Speke at (4890 meters)
Day 7: DESCEND
Descend to Nyabitaba and proceed to your base camp, those who are not so tired can have village walks around offered by the community camp, dinner and overnight at Rubuni Community Camp at the base of Rwenzori.
Day 8: TRANSFER TO KAMPALA
Transfer to Kampala - with lunch enroute and a stop over at some of the interesting places you may wish to have. Check in your hotel for overnight, Olympia Budget Hotel on B.B.
Day 9: DEPARTURE
Only Airport Transfer those who are not so tired can have village walks around offered by the community camp, dinner and overnight at Rubuni Community Camp at the base of Rwenzori. COSTS OF SAFARI ABOVE
