9 DAYS SAFARI LAKE NAIVASHA/ LAKE NAKURU/ OSTRICH FARM/ MENENGAI CRATER/ THOMSON FALLS
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival, are picked up by our representatives and driven to Parkside Hotel/
Flora guest/ Comfort hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Nairobi City tour
Breakfast and after, city tour in time for lunch from a restaurant, KWS Rangers/ Sebastian/ GR town Restaurant. Spend afternoon at Giraffe centre/ Karen Blixen Museum. Dinner and overnight at Parkside Hotel/ Flora guest/ Comfort hotel for overnight.
Day 3: Masai Ostrich farm
After breakfast, leave for Masai Ostrich farm on the outskirts of Nairobi- just the perfect excursion on this day. Depart for Kitengela Ostrich farm by road in time for lunch. Have sumptuous assortment of Ostrich meat and vegetables after which you will have the opportunity to have Ostrich rides with a guide. An excursion in the Ostrich farm will climax your Ostrich tour and leave for Nairobi arriving evening in time for dinner and overnight at Parkside Hotel/ Flora guest/ Comfort hotel for overnight.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha
After breakfast and after, our safari will be destined for Lake Naivasha, the only freshwater lake in the Rift Valley, arriving in Naivasha hotel in time for lunch. The lake is home to a large colony of hippos and it’s also a haven for bird watchers and researchers since over 400 different species of birds have been recorded here. The lake’s location and wildlife makes it an ideal place for an afternoon boat ride $20 extra. You can also decide to take walks in the famous Naivasha Gorge or visit to the liberating Crescent Island at an extra $20, which is completely undeveloped, wild and free, is one of the few places on earth where you can walk among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, giraffe and dik diks. There are no predators and no fences so it will be quite a liberating and exciting feeling to walk among the wildlife. Later enjoy your dinner prepared from the freshest lakeside produce and ingredients. Dinner and overnight at Fish Eagle Inn/ Kenvash hotel.
Day 5: Naivasha- Nakuru- Menengai
Breakfast, are picked up and driven to Nakuru in time for lunch from Waterbuck hotel. After lunch, leave for Menengai crater, a major volcanic crater in the East African Rift. Return back to Nakuru, dinner and overnight at Waterbuck/ Midlands/ Stem hotel.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, proceed on game drives in Lake Nakuru Park. Lake Nakuru is one of the gem in the necklace of the Rift Valley Lakes often referred as the Pink Lake for its great masses of pink flamingos. Opportunity to see millions of flamingos besides thousands of other birds. Lake Nakuru is a Rhino Sanctuary and harbors other wild-game like the Lion, Waterbucks, Buffalo, Warthog and Hippo etc. Leave the park at around 2 pm for late lunch from your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Waterbuck/ Midlands/ Stem hotel.
Day 7: Nakuru- Thompson falls- Naro Moru
Early breakfast and leave for World famous Thomson’s fall was discovered
in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist. The Ewaso
Narok River drops a sheer 243 feet over a ledge of volcanic rock, to
create these magnificent falls, located in the southern west corner of
Laikipia, at the northern foot of the Aberdare range. A nature trail at
the base of the falls and through the gorge is a safe haven for the
endangered Columbus monkeys, baboons and small animals. Proceed
in time for dinner and overnight at Naro Moru River lodge.
Day 8
Breakfast, and leave for Nairobi. Enjoy the surrounding Aberdare and Mount
Kenya proximity. You will spot the two mountain ranges pretty well early morning. Lunch on way from a restaurant in Thika town or similar. Arrive Nairobi evening in time for dinner and overnight at Parkside Hotel/ Flora guest/ Comfort hotel for overnight.
Day 9
Breakfast and leave for Nairobi Airport in time for your flight home.
